Can you imagine reading about real volcanoes in second grade? And not only can you read the text, you have amazing photographs. You can become an expert on volcanoes and then take your magazine home and share it with your family, showing them all you have learned. Scholastic News magazines help open the world to my students. They can read articles at their reading level and they get to keep each one and take it home. They can mark up their text and use all of their comprehension skills reading exciting articles. These magazines will give students access to excellent informational text. These magazines focus on social studies and science standards specific to second grade. They also are highly engaging and students are motivated to read higher level text. I will use these magazines in small group and whole class settings to help support my language​ arts curriculum. My class loves reading "their magazines" each week. Please help us learn to love reading even more!
