I am a Spanish teacher in an urban high school. My classrooms are comprised of students who are Spanish-speaking or Spanish –listening, have a Brazilian, Southeast Asian, Bosnian, or Arabic heritage and others whose only exposure to language is English. My first and second year classes are large, mixed grade (9-12); mixed ability (from Special Education to pre-AP) mixed culture and mixed motivation while my advanced classes are filled with equally diverse, but highly motivated students.
