Today's children are motivated by and experienced using technology. This is true for learners of all abilities. And because of the varied abilities of my students, their instruction needs to be differentiated. Technology makes this possible. With 6 Chromebooks in the class, I can have children use them independently when I work with small groups, I can use them for collaborative group work, and let individual students use them when necessary. Having access to technology for research, internet access, as a tool to create individual and shared documents to demonstrate learning, practicing learning skills on apps and websites, and more are why Chromebooks are a necessary classroom resource in today's classroom.
