Our school is a located in San Fernando Valley in a community with a high poverty population. Like many other schools in our district, we are in need of financial assistance. The district is unable to provide needed funding to help with technology in our school. Donations are at an all time low school-wide. Our parents qualify for Title I services, which means they are considered to be economically disadvantaged. I am unable to pay for all the technology for my class myself. Donors are the only hope I have for my students to completely access the curriculum in a memorable and meaningful way. I have a kindergarten class of 25 students. Seventy-five percent of my students are English Language Learners. Despite the challenges we are currently facing, due to lack of funds, my students come to school ready to engage in learning. They are making remarkable process every day.
