Students will be using the science books to to take home and share with their parents, guardians, and younger siblings. My students have very little access to books at home and in and around their community. The majority or our parents work in the garment district in jobs that pay minimal wages that require long hours to sustain a household; making books in our student’s homes a luxury. The books will help create an opportunity for my students to share and build a connection between the classroom and the home. I hope for this connection to builds a social bound between my students and their family member(s). Books will be central to this interaction, hopefully making them a normal part of my their lives.

About my class
