My classroom is comprised of twenty-four enthusiastic learners. Most of them are of Hispanic descent. Many of them come from a low-income family where English is in most of the cases not the primary language. Because of this, they lack basic academic vocabulary and have limited background knowledge in comparison with a majority of Native English Speakers.
