As part of the World Language and Global Studies Magnet, my students range in abilities and have a wide variety of needs and interests. The students have made a commitment to study Spanish for four years, with the option to take A.P. Spanish or Spanish 4 in their senior year, both of which are challenging. Some students come to our campus from quite a distance, often on bus rides for 2 hours. They deserve a challenging course load to maximize the value of their effort. Still, despite their best intentions, many students have troubles with basics as writing simple sentences using appropriate syntax. Their desire to do well and become ready for college moves them forward and needs to be supported.
