I have worked at the same school for 18 years because I want to help my students learn and succeed. My school offers a free breakfast and lunch everyday to all students. There are many cultures and languages represented at my school, but the one connecting elements is POVERTY! Many students do not have access to computers or the Internet at home, so it is important for them to have access to technology while they are with me Monday through Friday. The big shift in education is preparing students for college and careers, but without basic technology and computer skills, they will never have a chance to enter the race. My students are bright, inquisitive, and love to learn. Their faces light up when they learn new ideas and concepts. The 25 children in my class have to share 4 outdated computers. It would be amazing to have 7 chrome books (current technology) for my students. With the new computers, I want them to have the opportunity to explore how technology enhances learning.
