Students learn best when they are moving. It benefits their mental and physical health. It is hard for my second graders to be in their seats for the majority of the day. I would like to give my students an opportunity to work on the floor. I am planning to implement flexible seating arrangement this year. My students need a rug in order to gather for lessons, read, sing, explore, and work collaboratively with others. Flexible seating will give my students a choice of where they want to work. By making choices, my students will learn to problem solve, a skill needed especially in today's ever-changing world full of choices. By donating a rug and balance discs, my students will be able to enjoy learning. They will be more focused and productive. It will have a direct impact on my students' achievement and mental health.
