Our students live in a high poverty community, who qualify for free lunch, and go to a Title I school. The students in our school love going to school, are respectful to teachers, and have a community of parents who generally care about education. Our school is a safe haven for students, a positive place for children, away from the tagged walls, helicopter patrols above, and the rough streets they live in. Our students need more opportunities to express themselves creatively, and encourage them to practice writing as a way to communicate their needs, dreams, and goals. They are never too young to dream and set high expectations to be a successful citizen.

About my class
