My 18 kindergarten students with beginning literacy skills love to listen to books read aloud. My students need an iPod 6-station docking listening center and an iPod digital player to create a new listening center. The combination of technology we will use to listen to MP3 books will help these children build the literacy skills they need to become readers themselves! Listening orally and comprehending the story, following along with the book, recognizing words they are learning, and discussing the books with peers are some of the many engaging ways they will access literacy through technology in our classroom in a way that wouldn't be possible without the technology I am requesting.
