95% of my students are at the poverty line. They are all English Language Learners. The school has a student population of approximately 750. They love reading and listening to stories. Their parents want them to have a better life and be literate, but sometimes lack the fluency in English that helps so much. With a listening center the students will be able to hear a favorite story to gain fluency and comprehension.
