I am currently a biology and environmental science teacher in an urban school district where 100% of the students receive free lunch. Our school budgets have been cut to a fraction of what they can function on normally. I have approximately 200 students, of which, almost half are special needs. Science in my school works best if it is hands-on. I have been dumpster-diving and reaching out to as many places as possible for resources for my classroom.
