My students come to school filled with curiosity, smiles and an innocent desire to belong. Despite the many hardships and extremely difficult circumstances that are beyond their control, they arrive each day motivated to learn and eager to tackle their new adventures. Our school is in an urban, high poverty area and 100% of our students qualify for free lunch. Our diverse backgrounds give us so much to share and learn from each other. Many students have had experiences that most of us cannot imagine, and over one third of our students are English language learners. Despite these obstacles, my students want to learn!
