I currently teach 5th grade English Language Learners and work at a school which receives Title 1 funding. Title 1 funds aim to meet the needs of at-risk and low-income students. My students are developing their oral, listening, writing, and literacy skills in English. My students come from Latino backgrounds and are of low social economic status. The majority of my students are struggling in all academic areas. Every day it is my goal to create a classroom environment in which every student can feel comfortable and motivated to succeed. Reading is one significant medium to help pave their way toward a successful bright future. I am very fortunate to have a wonderful group of students who are very eager to learn and always try their best to improve in all that they do.
