My students are uniquely exceptional! Socially, my students are considered the most dangerous students on any public school campus due to their incidental disability of Emotional Behavioral Disorder (EBD). My students carry the discriminatory label of EBD due to early unfortunate childhood experiences that have injured their minds, body, and soul. My job of working with this population of students is to assist them in seeing the light, finding their true selves, and becoming productive citizens within society. My students deserve a second chance in life. My collaborative team of professionals and I work with the bare minimums when it comes to instructional tools and resources. The collaborative program that my colleagues and and I run is one of a kind. Nowhere else have I heard or seen 20 young adults (boys and girls; grades 9-12), from broken homes, foster/group homes, correctional/mental institutions, and different gang affiliations come together in one room to learn.
