My 4th graders are an intelligent and energetic group of students. They are motivated and willing to learn. They value education as the key to unlock their hopes and dreams for the future. They attend an inner-city title 1 school in a low sociol-economic area. All of the students participate in the free breakfast and lunch program. They work hard on a daily basis and look forward to physical education. However, it is difficult to make this time effective when we have to share limited supplies with other classrooms. There is a great need for quality P.E. equipment. A variety of balls will allow them to learn the rules and practice team sports. Jump ropes and frisbees will improve motor skills, and a parachute will allow the students to learn many new games that they have never experienced. Above all, they will get the exercise that many of them lack.
