I currently have 22 high ability second grade students in a self-contained classroom. Most of my students love school and have a thirst for learning! I have already noticed their desire to read books and the fun they have solving math problems, but I want to spark their interest in science, too! Our elementary contains grades K-5 and has nearly 1,000 students. My school is a Title I school. Many of my students are on the free and reduced lunch program as well. Funding is limited and many things for the classroom are purchased by the teacher out of pocket.
