I am honored to teach a group of 65 fifth graders in Chicago. We are a diverse and energetic group. We spend lots of time discussing, researching, and wondering about the world and the stories around us. We have no textbooks so depend on other print and digital resources to find our answers and generate more questions. One of the things I love about fifth graders is their growing independence. They each have their own interests and take initiative to find answers to their questions about the world.
