Our school is located in the urban area of South Los Angeles. The local neighborhood has a population of 58,773 with a very high density at 16,780 people per square mile. The people in the area are 85% Latino & 9% African American. Our school is one of the oldest in the neighborhood, almost 100 years old. Most of my students are very excited about learning and often look for ways to show off their skills. The students come from a variety of different backgrounds and many are learning English as a second language.
