I have 22 students who look forward to going to PE Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. The entire 6th grade in fact, nearly 70 students have benefitted from the generous donations! Each PE day, the students have learned how to properly stretch, then they get to choose from flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball or 4-square to play and the teachers monitor the different games going on. The students have learned that the better behaved they are in class, the more equipment we take out with us for them to truly have a customized PE class of their choosing. \r\nThese kids were COVID kindergarteners. So they haven't had a playground until last year when our school finally finished it's 5 year renovation plan. We have state of the art classrooms, and now a playground that can be used to its fullest by this group of 6th graders. It's because of what you've donated that has allowed them to not just obtain the PE minutes, but look forward to and keeping count of on going soccer or football games. \r\nThese kids come to school hungry, with no backpacks, but because of your donation, they look forward to coming to school so they can play. Sometimes, it's the little things that matter, and for these students to WANT to come to school is a HUGE deal. Little did I know how much excitement the leaf chairs and flashlights would create the day I unpacked the box and put the gifts in the room...they are still the preferred type of chair to sit on during independent/ buddy reading time.\r\n These chairs make reading time a cozy experience that encourages my students to truly get lost in their books. This year I am teaching an intensive 1st grade class of struggling readers. The chairs, flashlights, and trackers keep the kids engaged. There is joy on their little faces, which always warms my heart. It was supposed to be only for our Flashlight Fridays, but I have had to give in to their requests to use the chairs whenever they are given an opportunity to read. On behalf of my kindergarten class and myself, I want to thank you for your support of our project that enhanced their social-emotional learning. \r\n\r\nThanks to your thoughtful donation, we were able to provide resources and activities that made a meaningful difference in the lives of our young learners. From engaging storybooks that taught empathy and teamwork to hands-on activities that helped them express their feelings and build stronger friendships, your contribution created a nurturing and supportive environment where children could thrive.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your generosity has been truly heartwarming. I've seen shy students grow more confident in expressing themselves and their classmates learning to navigate social interactions with kindness and understanding. These are invaluable life skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour belief in the importance of social-emotional development in early childhood education has touched our hearts and enriched our learning journey. Our school went under a major renovation. They are still working on the play ground. Many of the students are coming to school for the very first time in kinder. Having the colorful counting blocks allowed for building centers for the students to play at since they are limited with their reading skills. Little by little they are starting to count and make associations with numbers and their values. The tens frames are the biggest asset in that we use them all the way up into 2nd grade where we are teaching students place values, and how to add and subtract. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For helping with very much needed manipulatives.
