Everyone wants to be healthy! The health of our children should be a priority. Opportunities to increase our student's health and fitness should be a lot more than just a "gym" or "health" class. Due to the way our educational system is created, Nutrition and Physical Education are not regarded as valuable as other academic subjects, although it is well known that a healthy mind succeeds better in a healthy body. As a Physical Education teacher, I believe that it is my responsibility to motivate my students to develop and maintain healthy life habits. For this reason, I'm continuously working on finding ways to inspire my students. The Learning Community charter school is a public school that serves over 500 creative students in grades K-8. High expectations for student achievement, strong partnerships with families and an emphasis on literacy as a tool for leadership are the hallmarks of our school.
