Have you ever had a great idea, but just didn't know how to bring it to life? 3D printing offers new possibilities to design and create the things of our dreams. But in order to do use it, you need to have the hardware, and be able to master the software for 3d printing. This is what my project will give to my students.
I would like to implement a STEAM unit using 3D printing technology, and CAD software, in students creating their own models and inventions for use in the real world. In additional, the students would also be using other 3D programs to understand how 3D printing works and to master using it. This 3D printing would be used with CAD to:
1.) Understanding hard to grasp scientific concepts in new and innovative ways.
2.) Creating 3D models from designs created using CAD.
3.) Promotion of innovated thinking for new products.
4.) Mastery of 3D printing technology in order to understand how it works and utilize it for STEAM areas. The technology in this 3D printer will help teach standards from the new science curriculum being implemented, help students create new and innovate models, presentations for our STEAM units, and promote innovative thinking for making new products.
