My students are mostly minority students who are on the federal meal ticket program. The area around the school could be considered somewhat "rough" with some gang activities. Some of the students are affiliated with those gangs, however, many are here to learn and excel. My cartooning students are very enthusiastic about learning new concepts such as perspective, how to shade, how to draw people, animals, etc. I have quite a few of students who take my classes for more than 2 years.
