My group of students this year is comprised of many hardworking students. The majority of them come from a low socioeconomic background. Similarly, many of them are children of parents who have limited schooling. Their academic abilities vary greatly; I do my best to provide extra support for students who are not meeting grade level standards by providing intervention after school twice a week. I know that many of these struggling students' needs are best addressed by engaging them in content study. Specifically, they are most focused when we are participating in kinesthetic activities. Project Based Learning is one of those areas in which kinesthetic learning is truly nurtured. It is my goal to further develop the number of STEAM resources available to these and other future third grade students.
