My students are beautiful. I love to see the joy in their faces when they make a new discovery or have a profound moment of self-realization. I currently work as a school garden educator in Fairbanks, Alaska, working with elementary students primarily. The school is in a high-need, high-risk community and has a history of under-performance on standardized testing and other student assessments, especially in science content areas. I LOVE to share my experience and knowledge of environmental science and biology with my students. For me, a school garden NEEDS to be a place of new discoveries and realizations, and I seek everyday to make it just that for my students' sake.
