The students in my 4th grade class are a wonderful group of students. Many struggle with reading, but are extremely eager to improve their reading skills. They work well together and are willing to help each other become better readers. Within my culturally diverse, low-income school district many students come to my class with a reading below or well-below grade level. I feel being able to provide my students with as many options for reading both independently and within a small group will be extremely beneficial. I always enjoy looking up from working with a small group to see my students "truly" getting into a book they are physically holding in their own hands. Trying to instill a love for reading is the ultimate goal.
