During the school year, students began to read with colorful picture books and take assessments to show understanding on a computer program (Book Flex , Taarhill Reader, Brain Pop, etc.) They also practice online math IEP objectives and take a alternative assessment to show what needs to be retaught and which objectives have been mastered. Over this past year, we have had 3 old version computers, 2 of them broke and the one computer that remains is what all students share to take assessments and to do their practice. This results in a lot of wasted time which in turn could actually be used for meaningful instruction. My students love technology and crave it to be at their fingertips. They love to Skype with well known authors over the Smart Board to see the artistry of writing and the enjoyment of reading. Mystery Skype activities with classrooms all over the world can be fun as they learn about the location and h
