My sixth grade middle school students are full of energy and enthusiasm. Our school is located in a major city which has incurred tremendous budget cuts in staff and supplies. My students live in a high-poverty area of California and many of their parents are in "survival mode". Many students have real-life, serious issues that distract them (and others in the class) from getting the most out of their learning experience. Most students are English Language Learners that speak English, but need extreme support with reading and writing. Every day I do my best to meet students' needs and receiving this wonderful gift of portable CD players would be a giant step toward further success for my students. Thank you in advance to any potential donors taking the time to read about our needs.
