I teach twenty-two enthusiastic second graders in a low-income school where the majority of students qualify for free lunches. Due to recent budget cuts, our school is unable to purchase many new materials for our classrooms. Most of the students in my class do not have a computer at home to practice or enhance their learning. This is the first year that many of my students are able to experience using an iPad. They enjoy our weekly trip to the computer lab where they may use the iPads to enhance what they are learning. It is also a frequent occurrence to have my students ask me if I can show them a game or app on the iPad when we are in our classroom.
