I love my students and have been a teacher for 11 years. I believe in meeting kids where they are and always being prepared. There are so many exciting lessons to teach, and I do my best to make learning fun, dynamic and exciting. With that said, my classroom needs a makeover. My chairs are constantly losing screws, and my students are always trying to get comfortable. Some of them need movement and always seem to tip their chairs in the process. This, of course, makes noise and also becomes a safety concern. Sitting and listening is a huge component to learning in a classroom. My classroom has very old furniture, and my students sometimes get their hair stuck in the back support or fall out of them because they are tilting and uncomfortable. Alternative seating is a must-have in all classrooms. My hope is that like my teaching, I am able to support all my learners and make a classroom that is inviting, stimulating and comfortable.
