I have a diverse class of 29 beautiful students with so much potential! They live in a highly urban area. Many of my students are exposed to poverty, abuse, drugs, and violence. Some of them face additional challenges such as having learning disabilities, autism, being a second language learner and even having life-threatening illnesses. Yet, they all try to live by our mantra:Be safe, be respectful, and be responsible. You can hear my students say that to me, to each other, and in their writings as they try to be successful people. Located in Southern California, our school is focused on science, math, and technology. With current budget cuts and shortages, the digital camera, printer, and paper will make a difference in enriching my students' learning and preparing them for the future.
