Developing a love of reading is the most important goal I have as a reading teacher. Having a comfortable place to read and ample reading materials will help make this goal achievable. Engaging readers is the key to developing life long readers and learners. The reading rug is a place that my students really enjoy and a bean bag seat will be an inviting addition to our reading nook. Students are always excited for the opportunity to read in a special place and this bean bag seat will add to their motivation to read. I strive to create a print-rich classroom and Scholastic magazines will be a highly engaging addition to our classroom. Our students love to read about kids from around the United States and the world and I enjoy hearing stories from families on how their child connects with something they’ve read in the magazine. As an added bonus, magazines are a great way to practice and build essential informational reading skills.
