My students are truly wonderful. The majority have had very limited experiences, speak one language at home and another at school, and live in environments which are not always conducive to supporting educational goals or ideals. My school is urban, and my students reflect the diversity that is found in Southern California. They know about things primarily through seeing things on the Internet, television or in film, not by first hand experiences.
