The students in my class are from diverse cultures. Half of the children are English Language Learners. Most of the students who are learning to speak English speak Spanish at home. However, I have students who come from Bosnia, Asia, Burundi Africa, Tonga, and Samoa. The students also come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Some of the families in the school boundaries are middle class while others are considered homeless and in the poverty category. Some of my students have wonderful support from home while other students have very little support because parents are on a survival level to provide the very basic needs. I have students who are gifted and above grade level in all subjects and others who are way below grade level. The Gifted students need to be challenged and have extra enrichment while those who are struggling need extra support. ALL OF MY STUDENTS ARE MOTIVATED AND HARDWORKING. THEY LOVE LEARNING AND ARE EAGER TO SUCCEED.
