I have eight students who are blind or with very limited vision. My class is on a general education campus, and my students are mainstreamed for academic subjects. They are like everyone else, they just do things a little differently. The kids are learning to compete for grades in the classroom and friends on the playground, and they are accountable for the same standards as everyone else. They play kickball, basketball, and handball. They are serious competitors, like their peers.
