Wild and wonderful Wyoming is where we are. My students are 2nd graders in a K-5 public school. An average class has 20 students. My 2nd graders are learning how to read longer books, with less pictures...picturing in their head. We focus daily on both addition and subtraction facts, using the computer lab and FastMath. My blossoming writers have been writing stories s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g them out by adding to the pictures, adding to the words and then starting a new piece. I am very fortunate to work with a loving and caring staff that makes sure that all students are successful. Although we have 30% students that qualify for free/reduced lunch, we do not qualify as a school for Title 1. This forces us to be creative in how we group students and use interventions for our struggling students. Luckily our staff is always willing to lend a hand to help all students succeed!
