Without the necessary materials there is no clip-clapping, tick-tocking, or racing, only blank, empty faces. I am a second year teacher, who teaches 2nd grade. Being a second year teacher leads to limited teaching materials. I teach all subject areas. This year one of my colleagues and I decided to team teach. I teach all the math to a diverse group of students, EC, speech, ODD, OHI etc. I work in a Title 1 school where over 50% of our population receives free or reduced lunch. Our students have limited resources at home. I would like to be able to provide each one of them a learning environment that is conducive to relating math to the real world. Since many of them do not have learning materials at home this would give them the opportunity to work with hands on materials.
