My senior high music students are bright, resourceful and inspiring for me as a teacher. What curiosity that exists within our program reflects upon a true passion for music. Our school is a small, rural district located in the lower Adirondacks with class sizes in the 50s-60s. As with most districts in New York, we are trying to balance our program with diminishing resources. We also need to find creative ways to encourage students to explore the learning of music in a performance and compositional based approach, consistent with 21st Century Learning Initiatives.
