I teach sixth grade in a public charter school located in the small community of Oro Grande, CA. Students in my class come from a diverse background. Some students come from a middle to low socioeconomic status and are fortunate to have such a great school in their small neighborhood. Our school provides the opportunity for children to experience a program that teaches the whole child. Fine arts such as music, art, drama, band, and technology classes are offered and taught by subject specific teachers. Teachers educate through hands on projects in a project based format. We integrate standards cross curriculum into each project. Hands on experiences require monetary resources, endless hours of collaboration, and preparation. I am fortunate to work with a dedicated team of teachers in my school as well as a collaborative sixth grade team. I appreciate any donation.
