Welcome to first grade! Do you want your children to remember first grade? I remember first grade as gloomy room with rows of wooden desks. Now that I am a teacher and a mother, I think about how I want to be remembered as a teacher and the hopes and dreams I have for my daughter. The first years in school should be "a no holds barred," environment. Materials and resources for learning should always be available. We should be able to touch, feel, listen and make whatever we are learning about. Our students and children deserve the best regardless of what community they are living in. Let's help make school a positive childhood memory.
