What if students could learn and read while they are engaging their minds as well as their bodies? I am asking for funding to buy three recumbent exercise bikes for my school's library so students can come in and read or work while riding the bicycles. The bicycles I have chosen are smaller and more compact so the 5th and 6th graders of my school will be able to fit into them.
One of the great things about funding this program is that it will have an impact on over 750 students! All students are able to use the library before, during, and after school, so every student in our school has the potential to be impacted! Research shows that kids with Attention Deficit Disorder process more information if they are doing physical activity while learning/reading; research also shows that our brains are more engaged in learning and retain more information if physical activity is included. An added bonus is this extra exercise will help our kids improve their overall health as well. Please help support our "Riding and Reading" endeavor.
