My school is located in the heart of a Memphis. Its the home to 500 scholars ranging from Prekindergarten to fifth grade. At my school, our motto is "Refuse to Sink". This motto reminds educators and students that no matter how hard things may get, we must push forward and stay focus to reach our goals. As a school, we have done just that! We have leveled up and will continue to help our scholars by closing the academic gap(s). Within my 5th grade Math classes, I would like to strengthen my scholars mathematical abilities by ensuring they are receiving daily instruction that are focused and aligned to the mathematical shifts: focus, coherence, and rigor, which includes fluency, application, and conceptual understanding. With the implementation of Eureka Math, my personal goal is to provide scholars with a deeper understanding of number sense, strategies, and tools needed for the real world.
