My classroom is a place where students are encouraged to take risks, make mistakes, and discover that they really can communicate in another language. I teach Spanish students ranging from beginners learning their first words and phrases to advanced students preparing to use Spanish at the college level and beyond. My goal is to make Spanish meaningful, practical, and engaging. We learn through conversation, reading, culture, collaborative activities, projects, and lots of practice. I want my students to leave my classroom with more than a grade—I want them to have the confidence to use Spanish in the real world and an appreciation for the people and cultures behind the language.
