My classroom is filled with a wonderful mix of personalities, talents, and abilities, and each child brings something special to our learning community. I have budding artists who love to draw, create, and express their imaginations through their artwork. I have curious thinkers and problem-solvers who look at things in ways that make me wonder if I have future engineers sitting right in front of me! Some of my students are eager learners who jump into every activity with enthusiasm. One student in particular makes a special effort to speak Spanish whenever he can, and it brings me so much joy to see his determination. Others need a little extra encouragement, reassurance, and patience to discover just how capable they really are. What makes my classroom especially unique is that my students are learning in both Spanish and English. Every day, they are listening, experimenting with new words, asking questions, and gradually building the confidence to communicate in another language. Some are already beginning to use Spanish on their own, and those little moments of progress are incredibly rewarding. They are creative, energetic, curious, sometimes a little noisy, and always full of surprises! They remind me every day that children learn in different ways and at different paces. My hope is to give each of them opportunities to discover their strengths, develop confidence, and experience the joy of learning. Above all, they are seven- and eight-year-olds who deserve a classroom where they feel encouraged, valued, and excited to learn.
