I am requesting funding for a literacy training. I feel my own training is outdated and does not meet the needs of today’s AND tomorrow’s learner. I want to feel confident teaching my students the skills that will help them interact with all text and become lifelong readers and writers. My passion in teaching is literacy and with these new skills I want to create an excitement for reading and writing that my students have never known. I have no doubt that what I learn during this training will stretch my own thinking and empower my learners to live literate lives.
