My students need your help! My First Graders are English Language Learners. Imagine the challenge of learning to read, write and do math in a language that is not spoken in your home. I want to make learning fun and exciting for my students because they deserve it. I have 24 first graders, most of whom come from immigrant families that live well below the poverty line. Their parents are some of the most hardworking individuals I know. Unfortunately, the long hours that these families work means little to no academic support at home. That means that we need to make the most of the school day, and fill our classroom with the tools that make learning possible! My school is dedicated to educating each child in a safe, enriching environment that respects individual and cultural differences. We have a school-wide college bound focus, and our teachers provide high expectations and academic rigor for all of our students.
