Our classroom at Positive Changes is a specialized, structured therapeutic environment designed to support Pre-K through 1st grade students. It is a safe, routine-driven space that fosters both academic growth and social-emotional regulation. Key features include: Phonics-Rich Environment: Walls filled with learning aids like alphabet charts, vowel team and syllable guides, and word family lists to support literacy development. Clear Behavioral Expectations: Posted "Classroom Rules" guide student behavior, emphasizing respect, responsibility, and perseverance. Structured Routines: Visual aids, such as calendar pocket charts and schedule cards, provide the predictability needed to lower anxiety and assist with transitions. Specialized Support: Intentional sensory resources—including fidget tools and privacy dividers—are integrated to help students maintain focus and regulate their emotions.
