Our school has grown and diversified tremendously during my 18 years here. Our new Advanced Placement Computer Science course is an introductory course and aims to attract a broad range of students: boys and girls in equal numbers, ethnic minorities and economically disadvantaged students. The vast majority of these students have no prior experience writing computer code. While some of these students enter the course already having goals for college and career, many have not yet found a career path that excites them. So getting a positive introduction to computer programming makes a big difference. While our physics program is well-established, our aging equipment needs occasional upgrades so that our hands-on curriculum continues to inspire and engage our budding scientists. Thanks for your support!
