I teach beginning band, concert band, jazz band and wind symphony. My students are located in the fourth largest school district in the United States. This school, has a high percentage of students who are on the federally-funded free lunch program. It is a diverse student population in a large middle school setting. My students are highly motivated to learn about all styles of music and funding for the arts is very limited or no existent.
